FAQs

+ One size fits 6-12. Really?

Since these are a stretch material, the salopettes were consciously designed to fit and mould to a wide range of shapes and sizes. It took many stages of sample development but it’s resulted in a really versatile size, comfortable and flattering for 4 dress sizes - all the models you see across this site fall into this clothing size range. Further sizing development isn’t ruled out at all but this signature pair is a good place to launch Legendary Alpine.

+ What about different heights?

The models shown across the site range in height from 160cm to 180cm so this one size pair should also fit anyone in this range nicely. The top of the the salopettes will just sit lower down the chest on taller ladies.

+ How warm are they?

It’s clear that different people feel the cold more than others. These salopettes have been tested in temperatures of +8 to -12 without problem. On warmer days the breathable fabric ensures comfort and on colder days the fleecy soft lining provides warmth along with fabric’s wind protective coating. For people who really feel the cold and for those bitterly cold days, tights or thermals are recommended underneath.

+ Why are the gaiters a different fabric?

As well as being another nod to the style of 70s & 80s salopette construction, there’s another reason behind the distinctive gaiter design.

The fabric which covers the top of the ski boots is the hardest working part of a pair of salopettes as it’s continuously being sprayed and covered in snow throughout the day so it's important that this fabric is going to hold its own against the elements and stand up to the wear and tear of being closer to the ground! That’s why the Legendary Alpine gaiters have been specifically designed to be as robust and impenetrable as possible.

2 layers of polyurethane fluorocarbon nylon padded with wadding and not excluding an extra nylon snow skirt cuff around your boot will keep you warm and dry and ready for any adventure into the snow.
